History

Founded in 1986 as Transitional Housing Inc. (THI), our organization was one of the first transitional housing programs in the U.S. to cater specifically to homeless and disabled women. By 2010, THI provided more than 3,000 women and children in Cuyahoga County with safe, affordable, temporary housing.

Today, Front Steps serves men and women—both individuals and families—with permanent supporting housing and essential services needed to regain their independence. Learn more about our founding and transformation.
